FAUSTINA G. VELASQUEZ

ALAMO - Faustina G. Velasquez, 85, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Comfort House in McAllen.

Mrs. Velasquez was born in Robstown and had lived in Alamo since 1952.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Simon Velasquez; and two grandsons, Moises Velasquez and Francisco Velasquez Jr.

Mrs. Velasquez is survived by 13 children, Francisco (Martha) Velasquez, of Mission, Jose (Cruz) Velasquez, Yolanda (Oscar) Soto, both of Pharr, Maria Rivera, Ramon (Mary Jane) Velasquez, Roberto Velasquez, Sara Ojeda, David Velasquez and Jaime (Janie) Velasquez, all of Alamo, Jessica (Robert) Martinez, of Odessa, Texas, Lazaro (Irma) Velasquez, of San Juan, Rebecca Sanchez and Delia (Ramon) Madrigal, both of San Antonio; 41 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hipolita Contreras, of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico; two nephews, Felipe Lopez, of Raymondville, Pablo Saavedra, of Houston; and a niece, Criselda Sanchez, of McAllen.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, January 19, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
