MARIA G. VELOZ
EDINBURG – Maria G. Veloz, 90, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Veloz was born in Mexico and had lived in Edinburg most her life. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pascual Veloz; four children, Antonio Veloz, Maria Del Refugio Veloz, Jose Jorge Veloz and Alfredo Veloz; two brothers, Jose R. Balboa and Guadalupe Gonzalez and a sister, Ramona Veloz.
Mrs. Veloz is survived by two daughters, Maria M. (Doroteo Jr.) Cordero of Edinburg and Juanita (Gregorio) Salazar of Delano, CA; ten grandchildren, Maria De Lourdes, Raquel, Susanna, Yolanda, Lupita, Carrie, Christopher, Jay, Mark Anthony and Gina Marie; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Raquel Alonzo of Stockton, CA and Josefina Ramirez of Mexico; and a brother, Antonio Gonzalez of Mexico.
A rosary was held Friday, June 5, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today, June 6, 2009, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
