EDINBURG — Margarita Villagomez, 86, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Geronimo, TX., Mrs. Villagomez had lived in Edinburg since 1989 and was formerly of Brownsville.
Margarita is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Angel Luis Villagomez; mother, Monica Estrada; and sister, Simona Gonzalez.
She is survived by seven children, Luis Angel (Bertha) Villagomez of Corpus Christi, TX., Sara Villagomez of Edinburg, Rosie Villagomez (Joe) Herrera of San Antonio, TX., Oscar Villagomez of Edinburg, Danny Villagomez of Edinburg, Esther Villagomez of San Antonio, TX., and Yolanda Villagomez (Raul) Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, TX.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Templo Bethel, 215 N. 21st Ave. in Edinburg, with Rev. Joel Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
