Gregoria Villanueva

GREGORIO VILLANUEVA PHARR – Gregorio Villanueva, 90, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Mercedes, Gregorio had lived in Pharr most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio and Ignacia Villanueva; three sisters, Rosa Cristan, Lucia Saldana and Santos Villanueva; a brother, Isidoro Castro. Mr. Villanueva is survived by his brother, Eugenio Villanueva; four nieces, Dominga (Federico) Flores, Hilda (+ Jose R.) Morin, Norma (Mateo) Nino, and Irene (Israel) Garcia; one nephew, Hector Villanueva; five grandnieces, Deandra Acevedo, Belinda Cavazos, Stephanie Villanueva, Rita Nino, and Avril Nino; eight grandnephews, Federico Flores Jr., David, Joseph and Isaih Morin, Jaime and Noel Garcia, Mateo and Geovanni Nino. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, today December 8, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
