SAN CARLOS - Domingo T. Villarreal, 83, died Friday, September 8, 2017, at San Juan Nursing Home.
Born in Rio Grande City, Mr. Villarreal had lived in San Carlos most of his life. Domingo was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. He was a very hardworking man and provider to his family. Domingo was so generous to everyone that not only did he donated to his community, but he also performed random acts of kindness to help people in need.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Dolores Villarreal; four siblings, Julia Guerra, Trinidad Gil, Santos Villarreal, Crespin Villarreal; and his in-laws, Juanita and Lorenzo Herrera.
Domingo is survived by his wife, Maria Socorro Villarreal; five children, Guadalupe V. (Daniel Jr.) Delgado, David (Milagro) Villarreal Sr., Beatriz V. (Felix Sr.) Gutierrez, all of Edinburg, Laura Suhey (Jesus) Olmeda, Domingo (Sandra) Villarreal; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, September 10, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Carlos. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
