JOSE R. “RICK” VILLARREAL SAN JUAN - Jose R. “Rick” Villarreal died Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at his residence in San Juan. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Ramiro Villarreal; and a brother, Juan Ramiro Villarreal. Rick is survived by his wife, Bertha A. Villarreal of San Juan; a son, Juan Jose (Berenice) Villarreal of La Marque, Texas; three daughters, Enriqueta Villarreal of Weslaco, Amanda (Juan) Martinez and Maribel (Randy Salce) Villarreal both of San Juan; 10 grandchildren; his mother, Diamantina Villarreal, of San Juan; and six siblings. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2013, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Pete Cantu and Hugo Santana of A Healthy Living Home Health, Becky Rogers of St. Michael’s Ambulance, and the staff of Amara Hospice for the loving care and services given to Rick. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
