LYDIA C. VILLARREAL
EDINBURG – Lydia C. Villarreal, 82, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Retama Manor Nursing Center in Edinburg.
Born in Edinburg, Mrs. Villarreal had lived in Alton for most of her life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. She was a very loving mother who inspired many people and who had a strong will to live, she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnulfo Villarreal Sr. and a daughter, Angelita Villarreal.
Mrs. Villarreal is survived by her three sons, Arnulfo (Maria) Villarreal Jr. of Edinburg, Jose Encarnacion (Gail) Villarreal of Lubbock, Texas, Arnoldo (Marla) Villarreal of Alton; three daughters, Alma Lydia Rangel of Edinburg, Minerva (Santana) Maldonado of McAllen, Mary ann (Felipe) Nacianceno of Mission; a brother, Ernesto (Delia) Cantu; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held Thursday, August 5, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today, August 6, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
