MARIA M. “JESUSA” VILLARREAL ALAMO – Maria M. “Jesusa” Villarreal, 92, died Friday, August 23, 2013, at her residence in Alamo. Born in Donna, Mrs. Villarreal had lived in Alamo all of her life. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Jesusa had a great sense of humor, enjoyed gardening and loved her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Eduvijes Macias; two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Villarreal is survived by her husband, Candelario Villarreal, of Alamo; nine children, Gregoria (Dommy) Macias, Juanita (Manuel) Ibarra, Ines (Ruben) Silva, Tonie Villarreal, Miguel Villarreal, all of Alamo, Francisca (Rodrigo Garza) Villarreal, of Pharr, Cande Villarreal Jr., of McAllen, Corina (Nicolas) Salas, Maricela (Juan Carlos) Yanez, both of Liberty, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Emma Medina, of Alamo; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Rose Rodriguez, Marisela Montalvo, Emma Martinez, Nick Macias Jr., Erika Munguia and Omelia Martinez for the care and support given to Jesusa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, August 25, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2013, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo. Pallbearers will be Cande Villarreal Jr., Mike Villarreal, R.C. Flores, Ruben Silva III, Martha Ibarra, Becky Silva, Jacob Villarreal and Ruben Silva Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Villarreal,Gregorio Macias and Nicolas Macias Jr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
