MARIA "TONITA" VILLARREAL
SAN JUAN - Maria "Tonita" Villarreal, 77, died Friday, February 6, 2009 at McAllen Medical Center.
Born and raised in Edcouch, and formerly of Mercedes, Mrs. Villarreal had lived in San Juan for the past 7 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Angel Lopez; her parents, Rafael and Manuela Villarreal; and a sister, Concepcion Almanza.
Mrs. Villarreal is survived by four children, Rudy (Wendy) Martinez of Chicago, Illinois, Daniel (Dora Alicia) Lopez of San Juan, Connie Arroyo of Pharr and JoAnna (Adolfo) Sanchez of Donna; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfredo Villarreal of Weslaco, Reynaldo Villarreal of Houston, Texas; and a sister, Guadalupe Velasco of San Jose, California.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, February 10, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Cremation will take place on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
