Josefa Villegas

ALAMO — Josefa Villegas, 71, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, in Alamo. Born in Weslaco, Mrs. Villegas had lived in Alamo since 1992 and was formerly of Pharr. She was a member of Iglesia Restauracion de Jesus in Alamo. She is preceded in death by an uncle, Macario De La Cerda. Mrs. Villegas is survived by her husband, Hilario Villegas, of Alamo; eight children, Juanita (Felipe) Meza, Eusebio Coy, Esmeralda (Jose) Guerrero, Rebecca Lerma, Eliseo Villegas, Daniel Villegas, Esther Villegas, all of Alamo, Abraham (Yesenia) Villegas, of Donna; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Juanita Coy, of Weslaco. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, May 31, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Magic Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
