HERLINDA C. DE LA VIÑA
EDINBURG - Herlinda C. de la Viña, 94, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at her residence in Edinburg.
Herlinda was born in York Town, Texas, grew up in La Feria, Texas and lived in Edinburg most of her life. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen and was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Pan American Round Table and the Hospital Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Manuel de la Viña Sr. in 1994; her parents, Rosa and Alfredo Cisneros; two sisters, Josefina Garza, Corinne Cisneros; and four brothers, Ray Cisneros , Alfred Cisneros, Martin Cisneros.
Mrs. de la Viña is survived by a daughter, Dr. Lynda Y. de la Viña, of San Antonio, Texas; a son, Juan Manuel de la Viña Jr., of Los Angeles, California; a sister, Viola Siestreem, of Long View, Washington; two brothers, Lee Cisneros, of Cohasset, Massachusetts, Robert Cisneros, of Palo Alto, California; two granddaughters, Ashly Lauren Forest-Viña, of San Antonio, Texas, Courtney A. (Josh) Paret, of Los Angeles, California; a great-grandson, Lucas A. Paret, of Los Angeles, California; and her nephew and companion, Frank de la Viña, of Edinburg.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, September 16, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Mausoleum in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
