DONALD S. WHITE EDINBURG – Donald S. White, quietly passed at his home in Edinburg surrounded by family. He saw the light, followed the path and went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. A courageous and kind soul, Don was as genuine as he was generous. A genuine cowboy, Don did the right thing even when no one was looking and he respected all. From the moment they met, he adored his wife unconditionally and was unafraid to show even the manliest of men how to love. He is preceded in death by his parents, Exma and Francis White; two brothers, Kerry and John White. Mr. White is survived by the love of his life, E. Linda Villarreal, M.D. of Edinburg; two children, Donna (Jeff) Summers of Fort Worth, TX, Duane (Kris) White of Denton, TX; two step-sons, O. Rene (Edna) Flores of Edinburg, Bernardo Guillermo (Esperanza) Flores of McAllen; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd White of Dallas, TX; and a sister, Joy (Cotton) Roberts of Decatur, TX. A memorial service will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. rosary Friday, January 30, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton Rd. in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or Easter Seals. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
