ARNOLDO WILLINGHAM


PHARR - Arnoldo Willingham, 63, died Monday, December 20, 2010 at McAllen Heart Hospital.


Born in Mendez, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Mr. Willingham had lived in Pharr most of his life.


Mr. Willingham was an active member of the community and participated in many civic organizations. He was a past member of the Pharr Lions Club and the Pharr Jaycees; and was currently a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and American Legion Post 101 of Pharr. He devoted many years of service to the Pharr and San Juan Youth Baseball Leagues and was employed as an educator for P-SJ-A ISD for 20 years.


He is preceded in death by his father, Adan Willingham.


Mr. Willingham is survived by three children, Patrick Isaac (Marivel) Willingham of Pharr, Sarah Amy Williingham of Edinburg, Steven Arnold Willingham of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren, Isaac Cecilio Willingham, Emma Lauren Willingham, Isabella Elyse Soto; his mother, Alvarita Willingham of San Juan; two sisters, Mandy Glover of San Juan, Maggie Willingham of Austin, Texas; a brother, Juan (Aida) Willingham of Pharr; nephew and niece, Brandon and Jennifer Glover; and a great-grandniece, Peyton McDonald, all of San Juan.


Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 11 am Thursday, December 23, 2010 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.


Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
