Catarino "Cato" Ybarra Sr.

Catarino "Cato" Ybarra Sr., 83, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Santos M. Ybarra; his parents, Mariano and Esperidiona Ybarra.
Mr. Ybarra is survived by five children, Hilda (Martin) Pena, Catarino Ybarra Jr., Hermelinda (Carlos) Salinas, Patricia Ybarra, Alejandro (Terri) Ybarra; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Marcelino (Minga) Ybarra, Mariano Ybarra Jr., Jose (Ava) Ybarra, Guadalupe Ybarra.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Christopher Pena, Carlos Salinas Jr., Gilbert Ybarra, Michael Pena, Manuel Ybarra, and Miguel Robledo.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
