GUADALUPE YOUNG
EDINBURG - Guadalupe Young, 97, died on Friday, September 30, 2011, at Edinburg Rehabilitation Center.
Guadalupe was born in Encino, Texas and had lived in Edinburg all of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John J. Young; one son, Luis Young; and her parents, Antonio and Estefana Mercado.
Mrs. Young is survived by five children, Roberto Young of Washington, Jose Antonio (Linda) Young, Sarah (Jose) De Leon , Una (Tony) Villarreal, all of Edinburg, Anna Lou (Albert) Salinas of La Blanca; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two sisters, Anita Garza of Linn, Texas, and Herlinda Tijerina of Edinburg.
Visitation will be held today, October 2, 2011, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Santa Anita Cemetery in San Manuel, Texas.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
