Yvonne Marie Uribe

Yvonne Marie Uribe (Villegas), 63, peacefully passed away at her home in McAllen, TX, on September 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Mario Alberto Uribe from San Ygnacio, TX, which they celebrated 43 wonderful years of marriage this past May.

Born in McAllen, TX, on September 20, 1960, Yvonne graduated from Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School and The University of Texas Pan American. She dedicated 31 years to education in the McAllen Independent School District, starting at Travis Middle School and spending most of her career at James Nikki Rowe High School. Yvonne profoundly impacted hundreds of students, caring for their personal well-being as much as their education, particularly the most vulnerable.A devoted Catholic, Yvonne cherished her family and friends. She loved spending time with loved ones, visiting her grandchildren, crocheting, and enjoying laughter-filled conversations. She was kind, funny, intelligent, and beautiful.Yvonne is survived by her husband Mario; three children, Rebecca Raquel “Becky,” Roberto Xavier “Bobby” (Jody Coglianese), and Ricardo Daniel “Ricky”; two grandchildren, Marco Xavier and Carina Rose Uribe; and two siblings, Carlos (Rosie) Villegas and Caesar (Delia) Villegas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos G. and Delia V. Villegas; her in-laws, Pedro P. and Angelina U. Uribe; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation services will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 5 p.m. -8 p.m. (6 p.m. rosary) on at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan, TX. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen, followed by interment at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
