VIOLA VILLARREAL ZAMORA
EDINBURG - Viola V. Zamora, 86, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2021, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg.
She was born on November 26, 1934, at La Primavera Ranch in Brooks County. Viola lived her adolescent years in Rachel, Texas. She married Enrique Zamora in 1959 and resided in San Manuel, Texas. She dedicated herself to her husband and children by tending to their needs and unconditional love. Her personal priority was her relationship with God and her family.
Mrs. Zamora is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Pena Villarreal and Juanita Solis Villarreal; her husband, Enrique Zamora; eight siblings, Baudelia Villarreal, Alejandro Villarreal, Olivia Escalante, Consuelo Villarreal, Ramon Villarreal, David Villarreal, Daniel Jr. Villarreal I, and Daniel Jr. Villarreal.
Mrs. Zamora is survived by her two daughters, Belinda (Gildardo) Basaldua, and Edna Alicia (John) Perez; a son, Rolando Rene Zamora; four grandchildren, Gildardo III, Theresa, Christopher, and Cynthia; a sister and brother-in-law, Baudelia Saenz and Blas M. Saenz; a sister-in-law, Esperanza Zamora; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at Amara Hospice in Edinburg, and her two caregivers, Belida Garcia and Omar Rodriguez, for their care and spiritual support.
Pallbearers will be nephews: Miguel Escalante, Oscar Saenz, Jesus Villarreal, and Blas M. Saenz, Jr., grandsons: Gildardo Basaldua III and Christopher Basaldua.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2021, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in San Manuel. Interment will follow at El Rucio Ranch Cemetery in San Manuel.
