Isidoro R. Zapata, 94, entered eternal rest Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
Isidoro was a servant of God and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all.
He now joins his wife, Estella F. Zapata; his parents, Anselmo and Hilaria Zapata; a borther, Jose Zapata; brother-in-law, Lupe Falcon; and son-in-law, Pablo Sanchez, in heaven.
In his strong faith he has left his daughters and son, Mary Jane (Adan) Champion of McAllen, Emma Delia (Joe T.) Rodriguez, Orfelinda Zapata, Marlen (+Pablo) Sanchez, Martin (Norma) Zapata, Ma. Guadalupe Rodriguez, Yvette (Eligio Jr.) Lopez; daughter in law, Rachel Zapata, all of Edinburg; a sister, Felipa (Ramon) Reyes; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Cesario (Vicki) Falcon of Port Aransas, sister-in-law, Matilde Zapata of San Antonio; Olga Falcon of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, February 24, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Pallbearers will be Joe Zapata, Cesar Manarrez, Martin Zapata Jr., Israel Sanchez, Gabriel Rodriguez, and Isaac Lopez. Honorary pallbearer is Adan Champion.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
