LEON ZRUBEK
PHARR — Leon Zrubek, 74, died Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg.
Leon was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Vietnam War from 1959 to 1961.
He is preceded in death by a son, Robert Zrubek; and his parents, William Alfred and Geneieve Catherine Zrubek.
Mr. Zrubek is survived by his wife, Antonia Zrubek of Pharr; five children, Brenda (Moises) Curiel of Three Rivers, TX, William (Gloria) Zrubek of Cuero, TX, Lonnie Zrubek of Pharr, Aranda Zrubek of Brownville, Judy (Carlos) Zrubek of Pharr; eight grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Zrubek of Fort Benton, Montana; and a sister, Deanna Castillo of Edinburg.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 5:30 p.m. rosary Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date at Rio Grande State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
